Endless Hot Water. Never Have a Cold Shower.
Plus, keep your utility bills low!
Tankless (on-demand) water heaters provide endless hot water while requiring less space than storage water heaters. They heat the water directly - when you turn on the hot water, the cold-water travels through a pipe and into the tankless water heater unit where it is heated by a gas burner or an electric element. On average, tankless water heaters can provide 2 to 5 gallons of hot water per minute. Gas-fired tankless water heaters can also produce higher flow rates than electric models. Large families using a lot of hot water, installing more than one tankless water heater is often recommended to ensure enough hot water for laundry and dishwasher in addition to showers.
How Tankless Water Heaters lower utility bills:
Tankless water heaters (also known as “on demand” units or an instant hot water heater) use 30 to 50 percent less energy than units with tanks. This can save about $100 or more per year, depending on water usage.
- Units heat water only when faucet is turned on.
- Typically operate with natural gas or propane.
- Eliminate extra cost of keeping 40 to 50 gallons of water hot in a storage tank, wasting less energy.
- Continuous supply of hot water.
- More compact than standard water heater & wall-mounted.
Higher upfront cost. Tankless units feature high-powered burners requiring special venting (dedicated, sealed vent system, needing professional installation). Natural gas burners typically need a larger diameter gas pipe, adding to initial installation cost.
